**Each member is required to CHOOSE A DIVISION. Divisions are LEADLINE 7 & UNDER, WALK-TROT 12&UNDER, WALK-TROT 13&OVER, JUNIOR RIDER 18 & UNDER, PONY GAMES AND HORSE GAMES.. Once chosen it CAN NOT be changed until the following show year. Example: if you choose Leadline, you cannot show Walk-Trot in the same year, if you choose Walk-Trot, you cannot lope (or canter) in the same year.

Silver Saddles Rules

SILVER SADDLES

4-H RULES WILL APPLY TO: Position on animal welfare, general rules, show committee, Judges, protests, description of classes, clothing and equipment, course patterns, and any situation that is NOT covered by Silver Saddles by law.

SILVER SADDLES BY LAWS: Membership fees: Family Membership $30.00

Single Membership $20.00

Family membership goes by household, only those with the same permanent mailing address qualify.

Each membership includes 1(one) nominated horse per member. A $10.00 nomination fee will be required for each additional horse, a separate form is required.

All Silver Saddles by laws will not be listed here, are available at Entry Booth and will be referred to as necessary. REQUIREMENTS FOR YEAR END AWARDS

* Membership fees must be paid before points can be recorded for member.

* Member MUST show nominated horse(s) to accumulate Points.

* To receive Participation Awards, members must show at 2 out of 3 Point shows.

* To qualify for Grand Champion or Reserve Champion in a Point class, member must show in their Point Class AT a Point Show at 2 out of 3 Point Shows, 3 out of 3 shows is recommended.

* Riding Members must work 1 hour of time at each show they attend, and volunteer for at least 1 committee. Organizers of each committee will be officers or board members. Members must sign in to receive credit for their hours worked. EXAMPLE Parents work during child’s class; work gate, set up ring etc.

* Members MUST attend 2 lunch time meetings held at the shows. If a member is under the age of 18 an adult is requested to attend with them.

* EACH member is required to CHOOSE A DIVISION .Once chosen it CAN NOT be changed until the following show year. Members are responsible for entering correct classes.

DIVISIONS ARE AS FOLLOWS

LEADLINE: Rider will be 7 years old or younger. Must be led by an adult (18 and over). There must be a leadline or rope attached to animal at all times. Riders may show only in their age appropriate Grooming and Showmanship class and Leadline classes

WALK-TROT 12 & UNDER: Rider will be 12 years old and younger. Riders may show only in their age appropriate Grooming and Showmanship class, Open Halter, Open All Day Pleasure and Walk-Trot 12 & under classes. Rider may not show in Leadline classes or classes requiring a canter.

WALK-TROT 13 & OVER: Rider will be 13 years old and over. Riders may show only in age appropriate Grooming and Showmanship class, Open Halter, Open All Day Pleasure and Walk-Trot 13 & Over classes. If rider is entering both Walk-Trot 13 & Over classes and Open classes, rider must EXHIBITION ONLY in the Walk-Trot 13 & Over classes and ride a different horse in the Open classes.

JUNIOR: Rider will be 18 years old and younger. Rider may show only in their age appropriate Grooming and Showmanship class, Junior and Open classes.

OPEN: Rider is not limited by age. Rider may show only in their age appropriate Grooming and Showmanship classes and Open classes.

PONY GAMES: Rider will be 18 years old and younger. The pony will be 14.2 hands and under. If the rider is over the age of 18 and is riding a pony they MUST show in horse classes

HORSE GAMES: Rider is not limited by age. Horse is over 14.2 hands

*A complete membership form must be submitted with applicable fees included.

*Forms must be received prior to members first show and class for points to count for that show.

*It will be the sole responsibility of the exhibitor to provide documented proof of fees if requested to validate

discrepancies.

*Points are kept on 1(one) rider and 1(one) horse combination.

*Points ARE NOT transferable.

*There will be a separate nomination form and fee for points to be kept on each additional nominated horse.

*All Leadline riders will receive a Blue Ribbon, if possible, in each Leadline class.

*All Leadline members will receive the same size trophy and same appropriate year end awards, if applicable.

*All members ( except for Leadline ) will receive points according to the following system; PLACE POINTS 1ST 6 2ND 5 3RD 4 4TH 3 5TH 2 6TH 1 GENERAL RULES

*JUDGES DECISION IS FINAL!

*NO REFUNDS FOR ANY REASON.

*4-H rules apply to attire, including helmets for riders 18 and under. Attire will be long sleeved shirts with a collar, jeans, and hard soled boots with a heel.

*Entries close 2 classes in advance.

*Classes may be combined or divided or omitted at the Judges discretion.

*RIDERS MAY NOT CROSS ENTER DIVISIONS. RIDERS MUST CHOOSE ONE DIVISION.

*Patterns, descriptions of classes, and courses will be posted at the entry booth.

*Shows will be held rain or shine at the discretion of Silver Saddles Officers and Directors and or Fair Officials.

*All dogs must be on a leash.

*Jackpot classes: $7 entry fee; 10 & over entries needed for full payback, $25-$15-$10,

6-9 entries payback will be 2 places $15-$10, 3-5 entries payback will be 1 place $10.

Must be at least 3 in class for payback.

*No horses in front of food booth and /or entry booth. Areas roped off must be observed.

*Leadline/Walk-Trot; anyone who breaks stride from a trot to a canter will have a 3 second penalty imposed If the canter continues for more than 3 strides, the rider will be given a no-time.

The Judge is the deciding factor.

*When and if members have a problem, they should report the problem to an Officer or Director, and then it will be determined by Officers and Directors if it will be necessary for the problem to be brought before the General Membership. All problems are to be dealt with in this manner. *Anyone who does not comply with the rules and regulations will be asked to leave and or not be allowed to show until complying with Silver Saddles Rules.

*These rules and by laws shall supersede all previous rules and by laws.

*These rules and by laws may be revised or amended at any Annual Meeting after the conclusion of or before the beginning of the show season by members of Silver Saddles Horse Club.

SILVER SADDLES HORSE CLUB IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ACCIDENTS OR INJURIES TO HORSES, RIDERS OR SPECTATORS AND IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THEFT AND OR LOSS OF EQUIPMENT, OR PERSONAL ITEMS.

ô To qualify for Grand Champion or Reserve Champion in a Point Class, member MUST show in their Point Class AT a Point Show at 2 out of 3 Point shows, 3 out of 3 shows is recommended.

ô Members riding for Points or Participation MUST work 1 hour of time at each show they attend, and volunteer for at least 1 committee. Members are encouraged to work as many hours as necessary to help the shows run smoothly. EXAMPLE; Parents can work the gate during their child’s class, or set up equipment for their child’s class, members can hand out ribbons or work during classes in which they do not participate. Organizers of each committee will be Officers or Directors.

ô Members MUST sign in to receive credit for their hours worked, clipboards are available for members to sign in for their time. A request is made that if your child is a member and that whoever is working for them –please put their name (your child’s) next to whomever is working so as to give correct credit to the member.

ô Members MUST attend 2 lunch time meetings held at the shows. If a member is under the age of 18 an adult is requested to attend the meeting with them. Attendance will be collected, either verbally or written. ô Members MUST donate to Chinese Auction and Muck Bucket Raffles at Point Shows. ô EACH member riding for Points or Participation is required to CHOOSE A DIVISION. Once chosen it CAN NOT be changed until the following show year. EXAMPLE; if you choose Leadline, you cannot show Walk-Trot in the same year. If you choose Walk-Trot, you cannot lope (or canter) in the same year. Divisions are listed in the membership packet. Members are responsible for entering correct classes.
